The British Numismatic Society provides Grants and Bursaries in support of individuals, projects and institutions to develop the knowledge of and interest in British coinage.
- Grants of up to £750: apply at any time
- Grants of £751-£1,250: apply at any time
- Grants over £1,250 and up to £5,000: annual deadline 31 March - though applications after the deadline may sometimes be considered; applicants are encouraged to contact the Grants Chairman to discuss potential applications.
- The above shows the new rates for 2026.
The Society also normally provides several bursaries each year for students currently registered at a UK higher education institution to undertake a museum placement. Details of further 2026 placement opportunities will be announced in due course.
